Office of the Bursar                       Tuition and Fee Bill - Escrow Refunds

Mandatory Escrow Deposits
  • The escrow (breakage) deposit is a one-time $50.00 fee paid when you enter the University. The deposit is applied against any unpaid balances when you separate from the University. Any remaining credit will be refunded approximately four months after your separation.*
  • The Bursar’s office also collects the one-time $25.00 bookstore deposit fee and forwards it to the University of Connecticut Cooperative Bookstore. This deposit allows the student to become a member of the bookstore. Four months after a student becomes inactive, the bookstore will refund a student’s deposit by mailing it to their permanent address.

* Any charges exceeding the deposit will be billed to the student
